From Saint-Bruno to Sainte-Julie: the drive to the BÉAcité model homes
If you are considering a new semi-detached home near Saint-Bruno, it all starts with a visit to BÉAcité's sales office, at number 435 on Geoffrion Street in Sainte-Julie, where visitors are welcomed. One practical question remains: how long is the drive from Saint-Bruno to Sainte-Julie, and which way should you go?
According to the open-source OSRM route planner, the road distance between Saint-Bruno city hall (1585 rue Montarville) and Geoffrion Street is 13.3 km, or about 17 minutes of driving when nothing slows traffic down. As the crow flies, the two addresses are only 8.4 km apart.
Described in plain words rather than on a map, here are the routes, the bike link and the buses, then what the trip changes day to day and the visit itself. All travel times are calculated without traffic.
From Saint-Bruno to Sainte-Julie via Rang des Vingt-Cinq
This is the shortest route. Step by step:
- Follow Rue Montarville, then Rang des Vingt-Cinq East for about 3.2 km; you drive right past Ski Saint-Bruno, at 550 on that road.
- Once in Sainte-Julie, Chemin du Fer-à-Cheval and then Rue Nobel lead you to Highway 20.
- Drive about 3.6 km east on Highway 20 to exit 105, the Route 229 exit (Saint-Basile-le-Grand, McMasterville, Saint-Mathieu-de-Belœil).
- Follow Route 229 (Rue Bernard-Pilon and Montée des Quarante-Deux), then Avenue des Bâtisseurs, Rue Bissonnette and, finally, Geoffrion Street.
Past exit 105, follow the signposts toward the Vallée-du-Richelieu golf course, then BÉAcité's own signs near Geoffrion Street. Those 17 minutes come from a theoretical calculation: at rush hour, allow more time.
Two alternatives: Highway 30 or Route 116
Via Highway 30, the route is longer — 19.5 km from city hall — yet takes about the same time: roughly 18 minutes without traffic. It uses Boulevard Seigneurial West and Boulevard Sir-Wilfrid-Laurier (Route 116), then Highway 30 East for about 5.7 km and Highway 20 East for about 6.3 km, to the same exit 105. It is also the route the calculation picks when you start from the Promenades St-Bruno.
Via Route 116 and Saint-Basile-le-Grand, you stay off the highway: Route 116 takes you to Rue Principale in Saint-Basile-le-Grand, then Chemin Trudeau joins Route 229 all the way to the Vilamo neighbourhood. Calculated from the area of Saint-Bruno's old train station, this route is 17.1 km long and takes about 20 minutes without traffic.
Can you bike along Rang des Vingt-Cinq?
The City of Sainte-Julie notes that, since 2012, Rang des Vingt-Cinq has carried a cycling link between Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville and Sainte-Julie: both sides of the road have a bike lane, each running in a single direction. Once in Sainte-Julie, you join a walking and cycling network that exceeds 40 km, and the Vilamo neighbourhood has a promenade shared by pedestrians, cyclists and electric mobility.
If you often ride around the mountain, a new address does not cut you off from your usual loops. Before your first ride to Geoffrion Street, though, check the full route: the travel times in this article are for driving, not cycling.
By public transit: train, bus and taxibus
Without a car, service depends on the day of the week. Here is what exo's official schedules, valid until January 3, 2027, show:
- The train (exo line 13, toward Mont-Saint-Hilaire) stops at Saint-Bruno station on weekdays only, with 7 departures in each direction and 28 to 32 minutes to Montreal's Central Station. Sainte-Julie has no train station.
- Bus 340 (Express Longueuil – Promenades Saint-Bruno) is the only route linking the two cities without a transfer, but it runs only on weekends and statutory holidays (4 departures in each direction). Leaving from the Promenades, the ride to the Sainte-Julie terminus takes about 15 minutes.
- Monday to Friday, you have to connect through Longueuil; route 350 links the Sainte-Julie terminus with the Longueuil terminus.
- Within Sainte-Julie, local buses are free for everyone, around the clock, on every route; regular fares still apply on express buses and taxibuses.
- A stone's throw from Geoffrion Street, the "des Pionniers / des Bâtisseurs" stop, 90 m away, and the stops on Chemin du Crépuscule are served only by the T34 taxibus (Sainte-Julie – Beloeil), on reservation.
Check exo's schedules before you go: they change with the seasons.
