From Saint-Lambert to Sainte-Julie: the trip

Before you plan a visit to a new semi-detached home near Saint-Lambert, it pays to know what the trip from Saint-Lambert to Sainte-Julie looks like, by car or by public transit. The short answer: one highway, about 27 km and roughly 24 minutes when the road is clear. The long answer is in the sections below.

A note on method: distances and travel times come from the OSRM route planner, which assumes free-flowing traffic; at rush hour, allow more. Train and bus schedules are taken from the official files published by exo and the Réseau de transport de Longueuil (RTL), valid until early January 2027.

From Saint-Lambert to Sainte-Julie on Highway 20

Highway 20 runs along the river through Saint-Lambert, and it takes you all the way to Vilamo without switching highways. From city hall at 55 Avenue Argyle (about 27.4 km and 24 minutes):

  1. Avenue Victoria, Rue Riverside and Avenue Notre-Dame, then the ramp signed "20 Est, 132 Est : Varennes";
  2. Autoroute René-Lévesque (Highway 20 and Route 132) through Longueuil, for about 6.4 km;
  3. at the Longueuil interchange, the ramp signed "20 Est, 30 : Québec, Sorel-Tracy, boulevard Marie-Victorin", then Highway 20 East for about 14.9 km;
  4. exit 105 (Route 229), Montée des Quarante-Deux, Avenue des Bâtisseurs, Rue Bissonnette, then Rue Geoffrion.

Once you're off the highway, follow the signs for the Vallée-du-Richelieu golf club, then BÉAcité's own signs: they lead you right to the sales office at 435 Geoffrion Street.

From Préville, via Highway 30, and the way back

Your starting point shifts the numbers a little:

  • from the Préville area: Boulevard Simard, then Autoroute René-Lévesque for about 9.8 km and the same route from there, for about 30.7 km and 26 minutes;
  • from Saint-Lambert station: about 28 km and 26 minutes;
  • via Boulevard Sir-Wilfrid-Laurier and Highway 30: Routes 112 and 116 for about 9.2 km, then Highway 30 East and Highway 20 East to exit 105, for about 28.1 km and 27 minutes. It's a fallback if Highway 20 is jammed through Longueuil.

On the way back, Highway 20 West brings you to exit 90 in Longueuil, then Autoroute René-Lévesque takes you to exit 79, "Avenue Notre-Dame", for central Saint-Lambert, or exit 76, "Boulevard Simard", for Préville: about 26.5 km and 23 minutes to city hall.

By train: the same line 13

Sainte-Julie has no station, but the exo 13 Mont-Saint-Hilaire line connects your station with McMasterville's, about 9.1 km from Geoffrion Street, or roughly a 12-minute drive. Trains run on weekdays only, with seven departures in each direction at Saint-Lambert station:

  • to Gare Centrale: 6:16, 7:08, 7:33, 8:03 and 8:33 a.m., 2:16 and 7:11 p.m., for a 16- to 19-minute ride;
  • to McMasterville: 12:44 p.m., then 4:05, 4:45, 5:05, 5:35, 6:15 and 7:59 p.m., arriving 24 to 26 minutes later;
  • from McMasterville to Saint-Lambert: 5:52, 6:42, 7:07, 7:37 and 8:07 a.m., 1:51 and 6:46 p.m.

One catch: no bus links McMasterville station with Geoffrion Street. You get to the station by car.

By bus: doable, in several legs

No route connects the two cities directly. The trip comes in three stages:

  1. from Saint-Lambert to the Longueuil terminus on the RTL: routes 1, 6, 13 and 15 get there in roughly 15 to 25 minutes, from early morning until after midnight on weekdays, and route 14 in 11 to 14 minutes;
  2. from the Longueuil terminus to the Sainte-Julie terminus on exo: express route 350 takes 20 to 35 minutes but has no departures toward Sainte-Julie between 8:15 a.m. and 4 p.m. on weekdays; route 325 covers the middle of the day, from 9:22 a.m. to 6:32 p.m., in 32 to 40 minutes; route 340 runs on weekends;
  3. from the Sainte-Julie terminus to Geoffrion Street, about 3.9 km away: only the T34 taxibus, by reservation and on weekdays.

We don't give a total travel time, since it depends on connections. The key point: a weekend visit without a car can't get you all the way to Geoffrion Street. On fares, Saint-Lambert gives residents 65 and over the RTL's "Accès 65 Hors Pointe" pass free of charge, and Sainte-Julie's local transit is free for everyone.
